Global Expansion Strategy for a Digital-First Business

Analyze the financial, legal, and regulatory considerations for expanding a digital-first business into new international markets. The primary objective of this project is to examine best strategies for audience growth and retention in markets where the Mixing Babies And Business Podcast has growing listeners (based in Canada with listeners in 19 countries worldwide, highest numbers in US, UK, Ireland, Australia, and Germany). All growth to date has been organic and bootstrapping with a sole founder, from Ottawa, Canada, business activities since 2018 with podcast launched in 2020. Evaluate the benefits and risks of setting up a US LLC or a limited/incorporated company in Ireland or the UK for international operations. Provide strategic recommendations on taxation, compliance, and risk management related to cross-border payments, digital product sales, and international banking. Target audience: Parents and primary caregivers of young children (ages 0 to 12), who are interested in entrepreneurship, flexible and remote work with kids. Opportunity for students: I want students to not only understand the significance of their contributions to connecting parents and primary caregivers with accessible professional development and micro learning opportunities, but to also feel confident that the project is manageable within a realistic timeframe of up to 120 hours which can be shared across students, spread over 6-8 weeks.
